Click here to sign up to adopt a family. You’ll then be matched with and provided a profile of your adopted family. The profile includes information about each member of your adopted family including clothing sizes and any special wants or needs. These are just suggestions and we leave it up to you to decide what gifts you get for your family.
You will receive a profile of your family that includes the name, gender, age and clothing and shoe size and any special requests for each member of your family. The maximum family size is six people.
Yes. We will assign you a family no larger than the size you request. If you have requests regarding age or gender of the children, we will attempt to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee it.
No. To protect the confidentiality of the adopted families, the Christmas Bureau handles the distribution of the gifts on your behalf.
Yes. To give children and their families the best Christmas experience possible, we recommend wrapping your gifts.
We recommend spending a minimum of $50 on each member of your adopted family, but you can spend more, and it varies from group to group or person to person.

Deliver your boxes to the Roosevelt Street entrance of the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad. Delivery dates are from:
Sunday Dec. 8th - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monday Dec. 9th - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday Dec. 10th - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 11th - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Your adopted family will be assigned a number, and we ask that you mark each box with your adopted family's number in large numerals on each of your boxes. We also ask that you number the boxes, e.g., 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc. to assist us in tracking the boxes and ensuring all get to their intended families.
The Carlsbad Christmas Bureau Adopt-A-Family Project is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization as designated by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions to the Christmas Bureau may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax consultant to determine your tax deduction. Our Federal Tax ID number is 33-0204560.
The Christmas Bureau is an all-volunteer organization, and those volunteering do not receive remuneration. We do not pay for an office, and we have no assets. A small amount of donations are used for administrative costs, such as mailing, stationery, phones, etc.
No. The Christmas Bureau is not affiliated with any other organization. We receive support from many organizations, including the City of Carlsbad, Carlsbad Fire Fighters Association, Carlsbad Unified School District, Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, and many local businesses.
No. The Christmas Bureau cannot be responsible for verifying that receipts for purchases are donated to an adopted family. We suggest you save your receipts and consult with your tax preparer. Anyone who makes an online donation will receive an email confirmation/receipt which includes the amount of the donation made to the Carlsbad Christmas Bureau.
